Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) has announced that Amber Blomberg, the executive director of the BCBSND Caring Foundation, has been awarded a YWCA Cass Clay Women of the Year Award for 2025. She received recognition in the Health, Wellness, & Spirituality category for her contributions to the Fargo-Moorhead community and her efforts to enhance the health and well-being of North Dakota residents.
The YWCA Cass Clay Women of the Year Award acknowledges the impactful work of women in the Fargo-Moorhead area. According to the organization, Blomberg’s dedication to empowering others and fostering positive change was a key factor in her receiving the award. The recognition underscores the importance of community involvement and leadership in developing a healthier, more inclusive society.
BCBSND’s president and CEO, Dan Conrad, emphasized the connection between such awards and the company’s core values of community engagement and service. “Amber Blomberg’s dedication to improving the health and well-being of our community is truly inspiring,” Conrad said. Her leadership in the BCBSND Caring Foundation is credited with contributing significantly to addressing health issues in North Dakota.
Blomberg’s career path demonstrates her commitment to community service. Originating from a Minnesota farming background and holding a marketing and business management degree from Concordia College, Blomberg joined BCBSND in 2012 after working in fashion. She has since played a crucial role in various initiatives and programs, notably within the organization’s Caring Foundation.
Notably, BCBSND employees have a history of receiving numerous accolades. Some of these include Lacey Bergh’s recognition as one of Prairie Business’s Top Women in Business, Dan Conrad’s acknowledgment as a Minnesota State University Moorhead Distinguished Alumni, Ali Bergquist’s inclusion in the Prairie Business 40 Under 40, and Cody Anderson’s SSG Andrew P. Nelson Award from the Northern Lights Council, Scouting America.
BCBSND was also recognized alongside Noridian Health Solutions by the United Way of Cass-Clay as the Most Generous Workplace, gaining the Philly GOAT Award for unmatched philanthropy and generosity.
“We are grateful for these awards and the appreciation of our teams. However, the work we do is not about recognition, but rather the members we serve,” Conrad stated, congratulating Amber Blomberg and other employees for their achievements.
YWCA Cass Clay remains committed to eliminating racism and empowering women and honored women like Blomberg at its Women of the Year Award Banquet on April 28.
