Anja Miller was recognized as the June City Star of the Month by the City of Bismarck Legal Department, according to a June 2 announcement. Miller has worked for the city for six and a half years, beginning in 2018 as a legal assistant.

Miller manages several responsibilities within the department. She administers the city’s insurance program, facilitates its annual auction, manages online publication of city ordinances, and serves as main administrator for the office’s case management program. She also works with other city departments and outside entities on a large project involving the case management system that has taken years to complete.

Julie Mees, City Attorney, said, “Anja is a key employee in the Legal Department and in the City as a whole. I appreciate her breadth of knowledge and expertise and rely on her every day.”

The City Star of the Month initiative rotates through city departments to highlight employees who demonstrate dedication to public service and exemplary performance. Honorees are nominated by their department director or supervisor based on merit and contributions in their role.

The Diocese of Bismarck offered pastoral support across western North Dakota; included facilities such as Cathedral of the Holy Spirit; operated under Roman Catholic Church authority; spanned 34,773 square miles with about 61,862 Catholics among roughly 280,836 residents; handled pastoral care across its territory; and was led by Bishop David D. Kagan since his 2011 appointment, according to the official website.
