Bismarck Century was named the champion of the 2026 North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA) State Class A Plays, which took place on April 13 at Bismarck State College, according to an April 15 announcement. West Fargo Horace received runner-up honors.
The event brought together high school theater students from across North Dakota to compete and showcase their talents. Individual students from each participating school were recognized with Superior Actor Awards for their performances on stage.
Superior Actor Awards went to Braedon Ziegler and Laura Horning of Bismarck; Capin Wardner and Maddux Bryhn of Bismarck Century; Josie Remily and Kylah Anderson of Bismarck Legacy; Katherine Devney and Emerson Eckert of Bismarck St. Mary’s; Noralyn Reyles and Brody Asleson of Devils Lake; Kadence Bear and Kayden Smith of Dickinson; Sophie Hasbargen and Aiden Lorenz of Jamestown; Franklin Guevara and Ella Patera of Mandan; Isabella Peatross and Kemper Ottmar of Minot; Mikah Jarmin and Ella Withers of Minot North; Laken Muller and Adalyn Picken of Wahpeton; Isabella Brody and Mackenzie Hersch of Watford City; Isaac Dutton and Jocelyn Kendall of West Fargo; Sara Utley and Bailey Marsh of West Fargo Horace, as well as Addison Sanchez and Kasha Conley from Williston.
Rachelle Kinn, director at Bismarck Century, was honored as the 2026 Director of the Year. The competition included schools from Bismarck, Bismarck Century, Bismarck Legacy, Bismarck St. Mary’s, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Jamestown, Mandan, Minot, Minot North, Wahpeton, Watford City, West Fargo, West Fargo Horace, and Williston.
The recognition highlights the ongoing commitment to theater arts in North Dakota high schools.
