Construction is ongoing on the Interstate 94 Business Loop and Chateau Road projects in Medora, with completion expected by the end of June, ahead of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library grand opening on July 4, according to a Mar. 27 announcement.
The work aims to improve local infrastructure as Medora prepares for an anticipated increase in visitors. The upgrades are designed to support community needs and accommodate future growth.
Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and flaggers present during paving operations beginning in mid-April. On Chateau Road, traffic will remain open both ways with only minor lane shifts and minimal delays expected. Remaining tasks include sidewalks, ADA ramps, lighting, signage, landscaping, roundabout completion, final bridge work, paving and striping on the business loop; while Chateau Road will see final roadway and sidewalk paving along with fencing, lighting, striping, minor grading and landscaping.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation manages eight district offices across the state for roadway maintenance and construction oversight according to its official website. Executive leadership at the department includes a director as well as deputy directors overseeing engineering, administration, planning and driver services according to its official website. The department’s mission is to facilitate safe transport across North Dakota while advancing quality service and economic progress as reported by its official site.
