North Dakota State University softball players Jessica Delatorre and Jocelyn McClary were named the Summit League Kwik Star Peak Performer and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, after leading their team to a sweep over South Dakota, according to an April 14 announcement.

The recognition highlights strong performances by both athletes during last weekend’s games. These awards are significant as they reflect the continued success of NDSU players in conference play this season.

Delatorre contributed offensively with two home runs, including a game-tying solo shot in the third game of the series that helped spark NDSU’s rally for a sweep. She finished the series going 4-for-11 at bat, collecting five runs batted in, scoring six times herself, and posting a slugging percentage of 1.371.

McClary led from the pitching circle with two complete-game wins. In Friday’s opener she allowed only four hits and one earned run while striking out six batters. She followed up with another win in which she struck out three more hitters and gave up just two earned runs. This marks McClary’s third time receiving Summit League Peak Pitcher honors this season; it is also her second time being part of an NDSU sweep of these weekly awards after previously sharing them with Bella Dean following opening weekend.

Delatorre receives her first career Summit League Peak Performer award through this honor. Altogether this season, six peak performer or pitcher accolades have been awarded to Bison players—McClary and Delatorre join Dean and Madison Wihlm as recipients.
