The U.S. Department of War awarded a contract worth over $63 million to United Crane & Excavation Inc. for maintenance, repair, and design of paving projects at Grand Forks Air Force Base, according to a March 18 announcement. The work is scheduled to be completed by March 15, 2031.
The contract aims to support the operational readiness of the base, which houses the 319th Reconnaissance Wing and hosts visiting B-1 bomber units. Senator Kevin Cramer, chair of the Senate Armed Services Airland Subcommittee, said in a statement that reliable infrastructure is essential for mission success at the base.
“With the 319th Reconnaissance Wing delivering crucial intelligence and warfighting capabilities or visiting B-1 units flying strategic bomber missions to anywhere in the world, Grand Forks Air Force Base stands at the forefront of modern defense. But mission dominance starts from the ground up. High-quality infrastructure ensures our Airmen and Guardians can execute without delay,” Cramer said.
