The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration announced on Mar. 24 that it has awarded $2.4 million to the Dickinson Municipal Airport Authority through the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program. The funding will support the expansion of an existing aircraft rescue and firefighting building at the airport.
This grant is part of a broader effort to modernize and improve safety at airports across the country, made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which established the Airport Infrastructure Grant Program with fully paid-for resources for such projects.
Since its creation, airports in North Dakota have received over $61 million in program funding, according to information provided in the announcement.
