Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak of North Dakota has expressed her congratulations to Doug Burgum, the former Governor of North Dakota, on his confirmation by the U.S. Senate as the 55th Secretary of the Interior.

“Today is a proud moment for our state. Doug Burgum is not only a trusted friend, but he is also a proven leader with the vision, innovation, and dedication needed to restore American energy dominance,” Fedorchak stated. She emphasized that Burgum’s history in North Dakota demonstrates his capability as a leader suited for this significant role.

Burgum’s career as both a business leader and public servant has been marked by his advocacy for policies that focus on innovation, reducing energy costs, and enhancing energy security. His confirmation is seen as beneficial not only for energy policy but also as reflective of values such as hard work and collaboration inherent to North Dakotans.

Fedorchak further remarked on the importance of having an experienced businessman like Burgum in leadership during times when energy demand is high. She noted that his ability to collaborate with President Trump could lead to investments in diverse energy strategies that would potentially reduce national debt, lower energy prices for families, decrease global emissions, and strengthen national security.

Burgum’s new position highlights North Dakota’s influence in energy production and policy-making at a time when these issues are highly prioritized in Washington. Congresswoman Fedorchak has previously collaborated with him and anticipates continuing their partnership in his new capacity.
