The North Dakota State men’s track and field team competed at two separate meets on April 17, with several athletes achieving personal bests and strong performances.
These results are significant for the Bison as they continue their outdoor season, showing progress among both veteran and younger athletes. The team’s achievements reflect ongoing development in middle distance and field events.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California, Ethan Moe recorded a personal-best time of 1:48.09 in the 800 meters, making him the fourth-fastest runner at that distance in school history. Kaleb Foltz also ran under one minute and fifty seconds with a time of 1:48.88. Carl Rekow (1:51.48) and Quinn Roehl (1:51.79) each set new personal records in the same event.
In distance running, Jacob Knodle finished the 5000 meters with a season-best mark of 14:17.51, which is also his third-fastest career performance.
Meanwhile, at Nebraska’s Big Red Classic in Lincoln, freshman Carter Reckelberg won the long jump with a wind-aided leap of 24 feet-7¼ inches (7.50 meters). Lucas McNichols placed fifth after jumping 23 feet-3¼ inches (7.09 meters), while Zach Lilly finished fourth in javelin with a throw measuring just over 192 feet (58.56 meters).
Both meets are scheduled to conclude on Saturday as North Dakota State continues its spring campaign.
