The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, has announced a funding allocation of $5,844,554 through its Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program for various projects at airports across North Dakota.
Bismarck Municipal Airport will receive $2,491,667 to expand and reconstruct its General Aviation Apron. The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority is set to receive $2,200,000 for expanding a snow removal equipment and sand storage building. Mercer County Regional Airport Authority will get $552,962 for resealing several areas including Taxiway A and B pavements.
Bottineau Municipal Airport Authority is allocated $171,000 to rehabilitate an airport rotating beacon. Mandan Airport Authority is granted $137,000 for constructing new airport underdrains. Crosby Municipal Airport Authority will receive $120,000 to construct a hangar intended for aircraft storage and maintenance.
Glen Ullin Regional Airport Authority is assigned $86,925 to reseal various sections of existing pavement. Lastly, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe receives $85,000 to rehabilitate parts of Runway 14/32 and other pavements.
The AIG Program was created by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law aimed at providing funding for airport modernization and safety enhancements. To date, North Dakota airports have benefitted from over $49 million in funding through this program.
