Senator John Hoeven announced on Mar. 24 that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $2,425,000 from the Airport Improvement Grant program to Dickinson Municipal Airport Authority. The funding will be used to expand an existing aircraft rescue and firefighting building by 2,692 square feet as part of efforts to enhance safety at the airport. This grant supports the final phase of construction for this project.

The expansion is intended to improve emergency response capabilities at Dickinson Municipal Airport, which serves as a regional hub in North Dakota. Enhancing airport infrastructure is seen as important for ensuring passenger and crew safety during emergencies.

Hoeven resides in Bismarck with his wife and family, according to the official website. He was elected to represent North Dakota in the U.S. Senate and has held roles in banking, including serving as president and CEO of the Bank of North Dakota before becoming governor of North Dakota, according to the official website.

In addition to his current role representing North Dakota in the Senate, Hoeven serves on several committees focused on appropriations, agriculture, nutrition and forestry, and energy and natural resources according to the official website. He ran on a platform supporting energy production and agricultural development while previously fostering economic growth during his tenure as governor.

Hoeven earned degrees from Dartmouth College and Northwestern University as noted on his official website. The new funding reflects ongoing federal support for transportation infrastructure improvements across North Dakota.
