The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced a grant of $1,969,720 for various airport projects in North Dakota. This funding is part of the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program under the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Grafton Municipal Airport Authority will receive $585,000 to build a new 4,828 square foot hangar for aircraft storage. This project aims to help the airport become self-sustaining by generating revenue.
Minot International Airport is allocated $421,800 to construct a new storm sewer system. This improvement is intended to enhance airfield drainage and ensure compliance with current standards.
The state of North Dakota will use $444,000 to rehabilitate 5,400 square yards of pavement at the International Peace Garden South Apron. The goal is to maintain structural integrity and reduce foreign object debris.
Devils Lake Municipal Airport Authority has been granted $200,000 for several upgrades. These include reconstructing storm sewer inlets and rehabilitating 5,615 feet of Taxiway A pavement. Additionally, they will reseal pavements on Runways 3/21 and 13/31 at non-primary airports.
Carrington Airport Authority will receive $199,500 for lighting reconstruction on Runway 13/31 and Taxiway A. They also plan to upgrade the precision approach path indicator system and replace existing airport equipment such as a rotating beacon and wind cone.
Walhalla Municipal Airport Authority is set to obtain $119,420 for constructing a new 5,600 square foot hangar dedicated to aircraft storage and maintenance.
These projects are supported by the AIG Program established through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law aimed at modernizing airports while enhancing safety measures.
