Bismarck, ND – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) and Senator John Hoeven (R-ND) are set to welcome U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins to North Dakota on April 22. The agenda includes a roundtable discussion at North Dakota State University (NDSU) with local commodity groups and producers, interactions with NDSU agricultural student leaders, and an agriculture technology demonstration at Grand Farm.

“I’m excited to join Senator Hoeven in welcoming Secretary Rollins to North Dakota and showing her one of the things our state does best—agriculture,” Rep. Fedorchak stated. She emphasized the contributions of the state’s farmers and ranchers to both the local economy and global food supply while expressing her intent to work with the Trump administration on farm bill reforms.

Senator Hoeven remarked, “Our farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses have built North Dakota into a world leader in production agriculture.” He noted that Secretary Rollins’s visit provides an opportunity to gain insight from local agricultural industry feedback and to witness advancements in precision agriculture.

The schedule for April 22 includes an agricultural roundtable at 11:00 a.m. CT, a student meeting at 12:30 p.m. CT at NDSU’s Peltier Complex in Fargo, agriculture technology demonstrations at Grand Farm in Wheatland from 2:00 p.m. with media availability included, culminating with a sugar processing plant tour at American Crystal Sugar Company in Moorehead at 4:15 p.m.

Congresswoman Fedorchak recently conducted a virtual roundtable with House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) and North Dakota leaders to address trade policies and farm bill priorities such as strengthening crop insurance and increasing research funding.
