U.S. Highway 2, known locally as Gateway Drive in Grand Forks, is set to close temporarily next week at the intersection of Mill Road/North Fifth Street. This closure is necessary for rail replacement work on the BSNF Railroad crossing.

To accommodate this, a detour has been established. Traffic will be redirected south on Washington Street and then eastbound on DeMers Avenue to reach the intersection of Gateway Drive in East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

The road closure is scheduled to begin on July 28 and is expected to last four to five days, provided there are no unexpected delays.

“The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to pay attention, follow the signed detour and be aware of traffic congestion.”
