Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced the availability of county fair resiliency grants. These grants are intended for use by county agriculture fair associations in North Dakota to aid in planning, designing, and constructing infrastructure projects. Eligible applicants include county agriculture fair associations or those managing a county fair within the state.

“County fairs serve an important role in teaching about agriculture and need facilities to do so,” stated Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. He further explained that “the county fair resiliency grants will assist our county fairs with select infrastructure-related expenses so they can continue to serve as the fabric of their communities – a place for 4-H and FFA members and the general public to come together and participate in exhibits, rodeos, and entertainment.”

The grant program was established by the 69th Legislative Assembly with a budget allocation of $1.5 million. Each grant award is capped at $100,000, but the North Dakota Department of Agriculture retains the discretion to offer less than requested amounts.

Interested parties can access full guidelines and application forms on the NDDA’s website: https://www.ndda.nd.gov/county-fair-resiliency-grant. Applications must be submitted electronically by 4 p.m. CT on Friday, May 30, 2025. After submission, applications will undergo a review process, and applicants will receive written notification regarding their application’s status.
