The Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) has released its Policy Position Publication in preparation for the 69th Legislative Assembly. The document outlines key priorities to guide GNDC’s legislative engagement, aiming to promote economic growth and stability within the state.
The policy framework focuses on three main areas: business climate, workforce, and infrastructure. These areas were identified based on input from member organizations and reflect the concerns and opportunities of North Dakota’s business community.
“North Dakota businesses are the backbone of our economy, and it’s our mission to amplify their voice at the Capitol,” stated GNDC President & CEO Arik Spencer. “This publication serves as a roadmap for lawmakers, businesses, and the public, emphasizing the critical policy initiatives needed to strengthen our state’s free enterprise system and foster a thriving business environment.”
For workforce development, GNDC supports initiatives that enhance career exploration, attract talent, streamline licensure processes, and address challenges such as childcare and housing. It also advocates for solutions like automation and collaboration between private sectors and educational institutions.
Regarding infrastructure, GNDC highlights smart regulatory practices in transportation, energy, water, and connectivity. The positions support fiscally responsible funding initiatives and streamlined permitting processes for timely development of projects.
In terms of business climate, GNDC promotes a friendly regulatory environment with equitable tax structures that encourage innovation and entrepreneurship while opposing mandates that could hinder progress.
The Policy Position Publication aims to unify North Dakota businesses by providing a framework for evaluating legislation. It reflects collaborative efforts among GNDC members to align with real-world needs.
