For severe cases involving collapse, seizures, breathing difficulties, or unconsciousness, individuals are advised to call 911 immediately.
Statistics indicate that approximately 90% of poisonings occur at home each year. Over 70% of those who contact the poison help line receive necessary assistance without needing a visit to a healthcare facility or hospital.
