Senior Kaden Pastian of the North Dakota State men’s track and field team achieved a personal best in the outdoor shot put on Apr. 18, placing fifth at the Big Red Classic hosted by Nebraska and moving into the NCAA Top 50 this season.
Pastian recorded a throw of 59-10.25 (18.24 meters), marking his highest performance outdoors to date. This achievement highlights his progress during the current season and positions him among the top collegiate competitors nationally.
Freshman Paul Hoekman also competed in the shot put, earning ninth place with a mark of 55-09.25 (17.00 meters). In other events, sophomore Reece Grosserode finished as runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 48-07.50 (14.82 meters).
Andrew Berg secured third place in the high jump by clearing 6-08.75 (2.05 meters), while Aiden Krause took ninth in discus after throwing for 160-8 (48.98 meters).
The results from this meet reflect continued development within North Dakota State’s track and field program as athletes set new personal marks and gain national recognition.
