The North Dakota State University (NDSU) baseball team is set to play against the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, April 21. The game will take place at Siebert Field with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

This matchup is significant as it marks the 49th meeting between NDSU and Minnesota since their series began in 1964. The Gophers currently lead the all-time series, but NDSU has won three of the last five games, including a victory earlier this season.

NDSU enters the contest after a recent win over Omaha, where Kyle Law had three hits and two runs batted in. Pitcher Jonah Walker earned his first win of the season while Zak Szabo recorded his first career save for NDSU. The Bison have faced a challenging schedule this year, playing their first 27 games on the road due to weather-related changes before opening their home schedule against Omaha.

Under head coach Tyler Oakes, now in his fifth season leading NDSU and thirteenth overall with the program, the team has seen several milestones. Oakes recently surpassed 100 career wins and led NDSU to its third Summit League Tournament championship last season. This year’s roster includes nine seniors and welcomes twenty-three newcomers.

Several players have been recognized for individual achievements this season. Zak Szabo was named Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week after strong relief performances against Vanderbilt, while Parker Puetz earned similar honors following his outing at Florida Gulf Coast. Colten Becker leads NDSU in home runs during conference play.

Looking ahead, NDSU will continue its road stretch with a four-game series at Oral Roberts beginning Friday.
