North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission plans February meeting

The North Dakota Agricultural Products Utilization Commission is scheduled to hold a meeting on Thursday, February 27, at the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC located at 1640 Burnt Boat Rd., Bismarck, ND. The meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m.

The agenda includes a call to order followed by a business meeting where minutes and financials will be discussed. There will also be a review of guidelines and applications along with eligibility questions.

At 8:50 a.m., PHAT Brothers Bakery Inc. DBA Tatanka Sky from Bismarck, represented by Kevin Cavanaugh, will present their marketing and utilization project valued at $386,026, requesting $216,270 in funding.

Following this, at 9:10 a.m., Nathan and Theresa Dessonville of 3rd Day Family Farms in Mandan will present their project worth $300,000 with a funding request of $225,000.

At 9:30 a.m., Angie Wolfe from ND Flax Works LLC DBA Pure Advantage in Southam will discuss their marketing and utilization project totaling $187,500 with a request for $150,000.

After a brief break at 9:50 a.m., the meeting will resume at 10:10 a.m. with Colin Tobin from NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center presenting basic and applied research valued at $119,019 with an ask of $95,215.

Minwei Xu from North Dakota State University in Fargo is set to present their research project worth $50,163 requesting $40,130 at 10:30 a.m. This will be followed by Andriy Voronov from the same institution presenting another research project valued at $57,209 with a funding request of $45,767 at 10:50 a.m.

After another break at 11:10 a.m., Hossein Zadeh from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks will present his research project totaling $234,839 with an ask for $187,845 starting at 11:30 a.m.

A working lunch is planned for 11:50 a.m., after which funding decisions are expected to be made starting at 12:30 p.m. The meeting is set to adjourn by 2 p.m.
