Gabriella Ruggeri ran a time of 2:10.60 for sixth in her heat and was ranked seventh in the conference this season. On the men’s side, Aleksa Milanovic placed third in his heat with a time of 1:50.66, earning him eighth place in the conference standings for the season.

Henrik Lindstrot achieved North Dakota’s top individual finish by placing third overall in the men’s 3000-meter steeplechase with a mark of 8:50.61.

The highlight came during the women’s 5000-meter run as Shewaye Johnson recorded a personal best and UND’s third-fastest all-time performance at this distance, finishing seventh overall with a time of 16:08.64—also second-best so far this season within their conference. Frida Giersdorff followed closely behind at thirteenth place overall (16:18.60), achieving another personal record that now ranks as UND’s fourth-best all-time mark for this event and third-best among current conference competitors.

According to North Dakota officials, “Three new UND Top 10 times were collected on the day, all from the women’s 5000-meter run.” The team now holds six leading times for this race within their league for this season.

Looking ahead to further competition before their upcoming conference championship meet, North Dakota will participate at Hillsdale Last Chance on May 6 and NDSU Tune-Up on May 8.
