The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has announced the availability of 8,547 wild turkey licenses for the 2025 spring hunting season. This marks an increase of 410 licenses compared to the previous year.

Out of the 21 hunting units, eight will see an increase in available licenses, two will have fewer, and eleven will remain unchanged. Notably, Unit 21, covering Hettinger and Adams counties, has been extended into units 44 and 06. This area had been closed for several years due to a low turkey population caused by inadequate habitat quality.

Interested applicants can apply online through the Game and Fish Department’s website at gf.nd.gov.
