Political action committees (PACs) in North Dakota are reminded of their reporting obligations under state law. According to a recent statement, PACs that fall under the requirements of both N.D.C.C. § 16.1-08.1-03.7 and N.D.C.C. § 16.1-08.1-02.4 must file all necessary reports for each statute separately.

The guidance clarifies that “filing a report under N.D.C.C. § 16.1-08.1-03.7 does not create an exemption from filing a report under N.D.C.C. § 16.1-08.1-02.4.” Therefore, any political action committee meeting the criteria for both statutes is required to comply by submitting all mandated reports and information.

Further details on this requirement can be accessed through opinion number 2025-L-01.
