The North Dakota State women’s track and field team concluded its participation at the Big Red Classic hosted by Nebraska on Apr. 18.
The event was highlighted by junior Arienne Birch winning the high jump, clearing a height of 5-10.75 (1.80 meters). This performance places Birch among the top 25 in the National Collegiate Athletic Association this season.
In other results, Grace VanErp finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 40-02.75 (12.26 meters), while Ella Gardner placed fifth at 38-11 (11.86 meters). Sophomore Aizlynn Krafka ran a wind-aided time of 14.47 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles to secure second place.
Adison Kapitzke recorded a throw of 48-4 (14.73 meters) in the shot put for a thirteenth-place finish, and Elise Magaard took ninth place in discus with a mark of 140-7 (42.84 meters).
The competition at Nebraska provided an opportunity for North Dakota State athletes to achieve strong marks as they continue their outdoor season.
