Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has reported significant damage to agricultural infrastructure following a severe storm system that hit North Dakota on Friday evening. The storm brought tornadoes, strong winds, and hail, affecting various communities across the state.

“My sympathies are with those in Enderlin that experienced the tragic loss of friends, neighbors and loved ones,” said Goehring. “We are saddened by the losses and devastation caused to many of our communities throughout the state.”

Goehring highlighted the impact on farms, noting damage to grain handling systems, grain bins, equipment in buildings, and irrigation systems. He also mentioned significant harm to powerlines within affected areas. “We recognize the extreme challenges our producers will face this harvest season with little capacity to store grain at harvest time,” he stated. “We will continue to work with the governor’s office and local communities to help assess the impacts.”
