Senator John Hoeven recently convened a roundtable in Fargo, North Dakota, to discuss the expansion of the Fargo National Cemetery. The meeting included state and local leaders, veterans groups, and other stakeholders. The cemetery's expansion from 5 to 35 acres is seen as an opportunity for future enhancements.

Hoeven highlighted a commitment he secured from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to collaborate with regional stakeholders. This collaboration aims to build a Veterans Cemetery Center on the newly acquired land. "We have come a long way since the Fargo National Cemetery was dedicated in 2019," said Hoeven. He emphasized that this development is crucial for providing support and honor to veterans and their families.

The senator also mentioned that the recent expansion and additional infrastructure demonstrate successful community collaboration. He stated, "Moving forward, that is what we must continue doing to bring this center to the Fargo National Cemetery." Hoeven expressed confidence that leveraging community support will elevate the cemetery's status comparable to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Last month, Hoeven announced acquiring land for expanding FNC’s footprint as part of his efforts to ensure adequate space for future needs.
