The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) has announced the winners of its fourth annual Name-A-Plow contest. Citizens from across the state submitted over 500 ideas for snowplow names, which were then narrowed down by district. The final selections were made through a vote by NDDOT employees.
The winning names are: "Snow Force One" for the Bismarck District, "Optimus Brine" for the Devils Lake District, "Mr. Snowjangles" for the Dickinson District, "Clearapathra" for the Fargo District, "Plower Ranger" for the Grand Forks District, "Iron Bladen" for the Minot District, "Sled Zeppelin" for the Valley City District, and "Catch My Drift" for the Williston District.
Winners will have their chosen names permanently displayed on their respective plows and will get an opportunity to meet with the operators of these plows.
"NDDOT wants to sincerely thank everyone who submitted names for your participation and excitement about the Name-A-Plow contest! When you see them out on the road, remember to give them space so they can do their jobs safely," stated NDDOT in their announcement.
