Senator John Hoeven has announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is providing over $26 million in grants for transportation projects in North Dakota. These funds, allocated through the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability & Equity (RAISE) grant program, will support two key initiatives.
The first project involves a $24.5 million allocation to the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) for the I-94 State of Good Repair Project. This funding will be used to repair approximately 20 miles of Interstate 94 east of Bismarck, addressing safety concerns and updating infrastructure.
The second grant provides $1.9 million for the Marley Crossing Project. This initiative will explore design alternatives for constructing a rail-highway grade separation along ND Highway 1804, southwest of Trenton, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and enhancing safety.
"This $26 million in federal funding will empower NDDOT to make needed improvements and repairs along I-94 and ND 1804," said Hoeven. "These efforts will enhance safety, provide more reliable transportation for local residents and travelers and help ensure these roadways can better meet the demands on our economy."
