Senator John Hoeven has announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is providing nearly $4 million to Hector International Airport in Fargo. This funding supports the airport's Terminal Expansion Project and is part of the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has been involved in efforts to maintain and expand North Dakota’s airports.

"The Fargo-Moorhead region has grown rapidly, both in terms of people and in economic activity. In fact, the metro’s population has grown by nearly 35 percent since the airport received its last major update in 2008," said Hoeven. "That’s why we are working to fund awards like today’s $4 million grant to make Hector International’s Terminal Expansion Project a reality. Doing so is needed to meet the demands of this dynamic region."

In addition to this grant for Hector International, other AIG awards have been allocated across North Dakota:

- $585,000 for Hutson Field in Grafton for a new hangar.

- More than $420,000 for Minot International Airport for a new storm sewer.

- $444,000 for International Peace Garden Airport near Dunseith to rehabilitate South Apron pavement.

- Nearly $200,000 for Carrington Municipal Airport to reconstruct runway lighting.

- Nearly $200,000 for Devils Lake Regional Airport for airfield storm sewer inlet reconstruction.
