U.S. Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer have announced their recommendation for Brad Thykeson to serve as the North Dakota State Executive Director of the Farm Service Administration (FSA). This recommendation is directed towards the Trump administration.
Thykeson, a lifelong farmer, previously held this position during President Trump's first term. In his prior role, he was responsible for implementing FSA programs and overseeing policies that provided support to producers during times of market uncertainty and natural disasters.
The senators emphasized the importance of FSA in supporting American farmers and ranchers. "FSA plays a pivotal role in supporting American farmers and ranchers by administering programs crucial to their day-to-day operations including agricultural risk programs, conservation, and commodity price support," said Hoeven and Cramer. They believe that reinstating Thykeson will benefit North Dakota's agricultural community due to his experience as a former state director and his deep understanding of local agricultural needs.
