Gov. Kelly Armstrong has declared March 2025 as Pride of Dakota Month in North Dakota. The celebration will include a special event, Pride of Dakota Day, at the state Capitol on March 6.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring announced that "more than 25 Pride of Dakota companies will be selling and sampling unique products such as gourmet foods, art, books, jewelry, clothing, home decor and more." He emphasized the opportunity for visitors and state employees to shop for these unique products and meet their creators. Goehring also encouraged those unable to attend the event to support local businesses in their communities.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Capitol’s Memorial Hall and Legislative Hall on the first floor. Lunch featuring North Dakota commodities and products will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Capitol Café, which will also introduce a new permanent retail area for Pride of Dakota products.

Admission is free and open to all, with parking provided on the east and south sides of the Capitol building. Visitors are required to pass through security at the south entrance.

The Pride of Dakota program is administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and celebrates its 40th year supporting local businesses and products. It offers member companies marketing opportunities through events like Pride of Dakota Day and Holiday Showcases while providing educational resources and representation at various marketing expositions. Currently, over 500 companies are members of this program.
