Senator John Hoeven has expressed his support for the Protect Women and Girls’ Sports Act, a legislative measure aimed at reinforcing the original intent of Title IX. The act seeks to ensure that only women participate in women's sports within federally funded educational institutions.

Hoeven stated, “I voted for the Protect Women and Girls’ Sports Act to provide a level-playing field and ensure girls and women aren’t forced to compete against biological men.”

The legislation aims to address ongoing debates regarding participation criteria in women's sports by reinstating policies aligned with the original objectives of Title IX. This vote reflects an effort to establish clarity on participation standards across educational institutions receiving federal funding.
