Construction on Memorial Highway in Mandan, North Dakota, is scheduled to start around April 1. Preparations for the project are already in progress.
During the construction period, traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction with a center turn lane. The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph, and an 11-foot width restriction will be enforced.
The project aims to reconstruct Memorial Highway from approximately 32nd Avenue Southeast to 46th Avenue Southeast during the 2025 construction season. It involves replacing old pavement with a new concrete surface roadway, including curb and gutter improvements, better drainage systems, installation of underground utilities, and a multi-use pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.
Further enhancements include upgraded traffic signals and lighting, improved access to businesses, and drainage improvements. The east half of Memorial Highway is anticipated to be completed by mid-November, while the shared-use path on the east side is expected to finish in 2026.
