Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer have announced the reinstatement of Heather Ranck as the Director of the National Rural Export Center. The decision is part of an effort to accelerate work at the center, an institution focused on conducting customized market research for rural U.S. companies targeting export opportunities.

“Heather has dedicated her career to helping support farmers, ranchers and manufacturers in North Dakota and across the country as they navigate global markets,” said Senator Hoeven. He emphasized her 20 years of experience at the Department of Commerce, stating, “Given her breadth of knowledge, it only made sense that the Department of Commerce bring her back to lead the National Rural Export Center.”

Senator Cramer remarked on the significance of her reinstatement, noting that it demonstrates President Trump’s commitment to rural exporters and national businesses aiming to expand internationally. “The Rural Export Center is a critical asset in finding new market opportunities for small, medium size and large companies throughout rural America, and Heather has been the driving force in its success from the beginning,” stated Senator Cramer. He expressed his eagerness to collaborate with Ranck, Senator Hoeven, and the business community in enhancing the center's achievements.

Support for Ranck's return also came from Perrie Schafer, Chairman of the North Dakota District Export Council. Schafer praised her leadership and past service to the center, acknowledging the collaborative opportunities her position would bring. "Heather is a proven leader and has served the Rural Export Center as its director in the past with great outcomes and great care for the export communities,” Schafer commented, thanking the senators for their support in her reinstatement.

Ranck’s return as Director is anticipated to further the center's efforts in aiding rural businesses across the country in accessing new markets and expanding their exporting influence.
