Senator John Hoeven has released a statement after the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison were celebrated at the White House and the U.S. Capitol for their football successes. The Bison, who have claimed the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) title ten times, were hosted by Senators Hoeven and Kevin Cramer for a Capitol Hill luncheon and a U.S. Capitol tour before visiting the White House with President Trump.

"The NDSU Bison had a tremendous season, winning their 10th FCS championship," said Hoeven. "But not only that, they are great student-athletes who represent our state well every day." Hoeven expressed gratitude to President Trump for agreeing to the visit and highlighted a video collaboration where Trump joined him in the "horns up" gesture. "We appreciate President Trump honoring their achievements at the White House, and had a wonderful time hosting them at the U.S. Capitol today. The players, coaches, and staff are truly deserving of these honors, and we look forward to all of their future successes."

This visit follows the Bison's recent FCS National Championship win. Senators Hoeven and Cramer had initially contacted President Trump to coordinate the White House invitation, which was publicly announced last month.
