Senator John Hoeven has announced his decision to support Major General J. Daniel Caine as the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hoeven joined a bipartisan majority in the Senate to confirm General Caine. In his statement, Senator Hoeven highlighted General Caine's extensive experience, citing his over twenty years of service in the Air National Guard. This service includes time as an F-16 pilot and roles involving intelligence and special operations.

"General Caine has a long record of serving our nation, with more than two decades of experience as a member of the Air National Guard, including time as an F-16 pilot and important assignments related to intelligence and special operations. Given his prior combat and leadership experience, he is a strong choice to serve as chairman," Hoeven stated.

Furthermore, during his confirmation process, General Caine stressed the importance of new technologies to maintain the United States' strategic advantage, which Hoeven noted aligns with his own efforts. These efforts are focused on modernizing the dual-nuclear mission at Minot and sustaining an effective nuclear deterrent. They also aim to advance operations in unmanned, space, and hypersonic missile testing in the Red River Valley. Hoeven expressed his intent to collaborate with General Caine in advancing these vital defense priorities.
