Senator John Hoeven, part of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, stated that the Senate passed a Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolution aimed at overturning a rule from the Biden administration. This rule, known as "Once-In-Always-In," classifies specific industrial facilities permanently as major emitters of hazardous air pollutants. According to the statement, the rule overturned a policy from the Trump administration that permitted facilities to reclassify if they managed to lower emissions below federal standards, consequently allowing them to cut down on compliance costs. The companion resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives is sponsored by Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak.
