The North Dakota Department of Transportation is moving forward with the repair project on the Interstate 94/Red River Bridge. Lane closures are set to begin the week of May 12.

Crews will be working on installing temporary concrete barriers and preparing the bridge surface for new concrete. To minimize disruption, lane closures will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., reducing traffic to one lane in both directions. Once this initial work is completed, the bridge will operate with two lanes in each direction throughout the summer for resurfacing.

The repair project involves significant structural upgrades to the I-94 bridge connecting Fargo, North Dakota, and Moorhead, Minnesota. The aim is to enhance driving conditions, extend the lifespan of the bridge, and improve safety through key upgrades. The work is expected to be completed by October 2025.

Motorists can expect additional traffic impacts during this period. For more information and updates, visit dot/nd.gov/I-94RedRiver.

"The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone."
