Doug Goehring Agriculture Commissioner | North Dakota Department of Agriculture
The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) and the North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom Council are inviting proposals for educational programs. These initiatives aim to enhance young people's understanding of agriculture's significance both in North Dakota and their daily lives.
Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring emphasized the program's value, stating, "Agriculture in the Classroom programs help young people learn where their food comes from and how to make better food choices for themselves." He further elaborated that the initiative provides teachers with essential resources, including curricula, lesson development materials, training seminars, a magazine, website, and other tools to integrate agriculture into education. The resources offered are designed to support all core areas of study.
Goehring announced that up to $100,000 will be allocated for these programs during this biennium. Those interested in applying can find detailed information on grant opportunities and proposal submissions at www.ndda.nd.gov/aitcgrants or by reaching out to Heather Lang at 701-595-9120 or hlang@nd.gov.
All proposals must be submitted by 4 p.m. CDT on Friday, June 6, 2025.
