Key topics will cover animal disease traceability, electronic health certificates, federal rules regarding electronic tags for bovine and porcine animals, and several disease updates including anthrax, high path avian influenza, equine infectious anemia, New World screwworm, tuberculosis, and West Nile virus. Other agenda items include cervid slaughter facility operations, farmed elk updates, non-traditional livestock matters, US Swine Health Improvement Plan developments, importation requirements for animals such as Brucellosis abortus concerns, petting zoos and circuses oversight, border movements of animals, and public animal exhibitions at rodeos or fairs.

A fiscal update will be provided along with discussions on inhumane care cases and administrative rules. Violations may be addressed during an executive session. Additional topics could be discussed if this is a regular meeting; otherwise discussion will be limited to those listed.

Upcoming meetings noted on the agenda include the ND Stockmen’s Convention in Minot from September 24-26; I-BAND Annual Meeting in Bismarck on October 4; ND Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners Rule Hearing in West Fargo on October 6; and US Animal Health Association Meeting in Denver from October 30 to November 5.
