North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) is inviting residents to a quarterly stakeholder meeting on October 7, from 10 a.m. to noon Central Time, to discuss ongoing efforts aimed at supporting individuals with physical disabilities who wish to live at home with the assistance of in-home and community support services. The meeting will be held both in person at the HHS Prairie Hills Plaza offices in Bismarck and virtually.

The event aims to provide updates and gather input on strategies that help North Dakotans access care options that allow them to delay or avoid nursing home placement if they choose. This aligns with HHS’s strategic priority of enhancing well-being by improving access to high-quality services closer to home.

According to HHS, the agenda for the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) Settlement Agreement Stakeholder meeting includes an overview of the DOJ semiannual report and information about upcoming Qualified Service Provider quality and compliance workshops scheduled for October. Updates will also be provided on the state’s home and community-based services initiatives, as well as the Transition and Diversion program. Additional topics include details about the Target Population Member Rental Assistance Program, funding for home modifications, peer support opportunities, and other related programs.

Residents can attend either in person at 1237 W. Divide Ave., Suite 6, Bismarck—entering through door No. 2—or participate virtually using computers, mobile devices, or telephones. Information for virtual participation is available in the USDOJ Settlement Agreement Stakeholder meeting notice.

For those needing accommodations due to disabilities, contact Shelly Selzler at (701) 328-8679, via TTY at 711, or by email at mmselzler@nd.gov.

North Dakotans seeking assistance with tasks such as housecleaning, meal preparation, nonmedical transportation, personal care needs, or other in-home and community-based services can reach out to the Aging and Disability Resource Link toll-free at (855) 462-5465 or by email at carechoice@nd.gov. Online applications are also accepted through carechoice.nd.assistguide.net.
