The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has allocated more than $1.3 million in grants to North Dakota agencies and the Three Affiliated Tribes, according to an announcement made in Bismarck.
The North Dakota Department of Agriculture will receive $517,810. This funding is designated for programs aimed at developing and maintaining a comprehensive pesticide program that addresses enforcement, initiatives, and implementation across the state.
The North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality is set to get $498,083. These funds are intended for the development and implementation of a coal combustion residual program that meets EPA approval standards.
Additionally, the Three Affiliated Tribes have been awarded $317,957. The grant will support tribal environmental programs focused on air, water, land, data quality management, pollution prevention efforts, brownfields remediation projects, and chemical safety measures.
