Middle and high school teachers in North Dakota are being invited to apply for modern agriculture STEM kits, an initiative from the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and the North Dakota Ag in the Classroom Program. The program aims to help students use technology and learn about sustainable agricultural practices while gaining a broader understanding of today’s agriculture industry.
“I encourage educators to take advantage of this opportunity to embed agriculture into their classrooms,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “Students will have the opportunity to explore a different part of agriculture that they might not have related to the industry."
The kits will include lesson plans sourced from the National Ag in the Classroom Matrix, as well as robotic kits. Teachers who receive these resources must integrate them into their curriculum by March 2026. A follow-up survey is scheduled for mid-March 2026.
The number of available kits is limited, with distribution on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are open until October 31, 2025, and can be accessed at https://www.ndda.nd.gov/AITCresources.
For further information regarding applications, interested parties can contact Agriculture Business Development Coordinator Heather Lang via email at hlang@nd.gov or by phone at 701-328-2308 or 701-595-9120.
