The Pride of Dakota Showcase will return to the State Fair Center in Minot on October 24 and 25, according to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. The event will feature over 100 companies presenting products made in North Dakota.

“This year’s Pride of Dakota Showcase features more than 100 companies offering unique, North Dakota-made products,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “Shoppers will find thousands of products to choose from, including gourmet food, wine and spirits, books, jewelry, apparel, personal care, pottery, quilting, photography and framed art, children's items and more.”

The showcase is scheduled to be open from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Both admission and shopping bags are free for attendees due to sponsorship by the Bank of North Dakota College SAVE Plan. Parking is also complimentary for those attending the event.

This year’s event introduces several new activities. These include a food and wine experience on Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., cooking demonstrations by Gourmet Chef on both days, an Ag in the Classroom area for children with hands-on activities, hourly drawings for Pride of Dakota bucks on Friday, and a $200 shopping spree opportunity.

Retailers are encouraged to attend as well. Goehring stated: “This is a great opportunity to purchase a few items to try in your store before establishing a wholesale order. Plus, retailers can support a fellow North Dakota small business in the process. It’s a chance to begin a working relationship that could be beneficial for many companies and local retail stores.”

Other upcoming Holiday Showcases are planned in Grand Forks at the Alerus Center (November 14-15), Fargo at Scheels Arena (November 21-22), and Bismarck at the Event Center (December 5-6).

The Pride of Dakota program is managed by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture and offers its members opportunities such as cooperative marketing events—including these showcases—and educational resources. More than 500 companies from across North Dakota participate as members in the program.
