Seniors Taya Hopfauf and Camryn Lasota were named on June 2 as two of the 15 student-athletes selected for the 2026 Summit League Softball Academic All-League Team. The honor, determined by voting from the league’s Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors, recognizes both academic excellence and performance during the softball season.

This is the second time Hopfauf and Lasota have received all-league academic honors. It also marks their second academic distinction in a week, following their selection as CSC Academic All-District honorees last week.

Hopfauf concluded her collegiate career with a perfect 4.0 GPA in communication science and disorders. She earned All-Summit League Honorable Mention honors, was named the 2025-26 University of North Dakota Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, led her team in at-bats (168) and RBIs (30), tied for most home runs (five), and became UND’s all-time leader in games played at 207.

Lasota finished with a 3.976 GPA as a forensic science major while playing in 50 games during her final season. She hit .292 with five home runs, recorded 26 RBIs, scored 25 runs, led her squad with a .431 on-base percentage, tallied twelve multi-hit games including three three-hit contests, and drew at least one walk in thirty-one games.

Eligibility for the Academic All-League team requires student-athletes to have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a four-point scale, completion of one full academic year at their current institution, participation in fifty percent of their team’s competitions (or twenty percent for pitchers), with nominations submitted by sports information directors from seven league institutions that sponsor softball.
