PRESERVING North Dakota traditions: Master wildlife woodcarver, Wayne Hankel of Fargo, instructs his young apprentice, Cole Foerster, in the carving of a duck out of butternut. The completed duck carving was created by Wayne and served as the model for Cole to follow. They are 2022-23 NDCA Folk and Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program participants.
