Senator John Hoeven has announced the Senate's approval of the Fiscal Year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). As a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, Hoeven emphasized the bill's support for military personnel, which includes a 5.2 percent pay increase for servicemembers.

"North Dakota plays a vital role in defending our nation now and will continue to do so well into the future," stated Hoeven. He highlighted provisions in the NDAA aimed at enhancing military operations within North Dakota. This includes modernizing nuclear forces at Minot Air Force Base, bolstering Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Space Development Agency missions in Grand Forks, and improving capabilities of MQ-9 aircraft based in Fargo.

Further investments are earmarked for the Guard Readiness Center in Dickinson and housing developments at Camp Grafton.

The legislation reflects Hoeven's efforts to incorporate several specific provisions focused on strategic bases across North Dakota: Minot Air Force Base, Grand Forks Air Force Base, Cavalier Space Force Base, and the North Dakota National Guard.
