The Economic Development Administration (EDA) has announced a $1.3 million award to the University of North Dakota (UND) in Grand Forks. This funding aims to enhance healthcare workforce development by supporting the acquisition of a van and related equipment, which will help UND expand its medical training program. The award will be complemented by $328,500 in local funds.

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) commented on the significance of this investment: “The University of North Dakota is essential to training medical professionals in the region,” he said. “At a time of limited supply and growing demand for more technicians, nurses, and physicians, these funds will support workforce development efforts in the state, both now and in the future. I’m glad this project secured assistance to enhance training opportunities for the essential jobs in medical care.”
