Senator John Hoeven expressed his support following the confirmation of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense. The U.S. Senate approved Hegseth's appointment, recognizing his military service and advocacy for veterans.
"Pete Hegseth served in combat during his time in the military and has been a strong advocate for our veterans," said Hoeven. He emphasized the collaboration with Hegseth to modernize the military and maintain peace through strength.
Hoeven highlighted North Dakota's significant role in national defense, noting its leadership in unmanned aerial systems in Grand Forks and its involvement with two legs of the nuclear deterrent in Minot. "Together with the Trump administration we’ll work to continue and grow our state’s leadership as well as support our military members," he stated.
