The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) is now accepting nominations for two prestigious awards in the field of boating safety. The 2025 Butch Potts Boating Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award and the 2025 Pamela S. Dillon Boating Educator of the Year Award are open for submissions.

The deadline for submitting nominations is March 31. The Butch Potts award seeks nominees among commissioned, certified, or sworn peace officers who are authorized by their state to enforce recreational boating safety laws. Boating law administrators are encouraged to nominate candidates who have made significant contributions to boating safety through enforcement.

For the Pamela S. Dillon award, eligible nominees include educators and volunteers from state and local agencies as well as nonprofit organizations. This award recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to boating safety through education. Nominees should be those in the educational sector who actively engage students and boaters, enhance awareness, and make boating education both relevant and engaging.
